Redstone

Discover gentle tourism in the midst of untouched nature! Sohland with the Rotstein and its surroundings offers numerous opportunities for an interesting and relaxing holiday.

Comfortable hiking trails lead you directly to the Rotstein from Sohland. From various vantage points you can enjoy the charming Upper Lusatian landscape and, on a clear day, even see as far as the Jizera and Giant Mountains. The view from the observation tower on the Rotstein is particularly impressive.

Königshain Mountains

Welcome to the Königshain mountains west of Görlitz! This extensive granite area extends over approximately 50 km² and includes striking elevations such as the Kampfberge with the Ahlberg in the south and the Hochstein in the north. The free-standing granite rocks are the remains of over 100 quarried rock towers from over 200 years of quarry history. Today the granite mining museum and numerous quarry holes are silent witnesses of this time.

Upper Lusatian Heath & Pond Landscape Biosphere Reserve

Take a tour and discover the habitat of over 5,000 species of birds and plants in the nature reserve between Lömischau and Kleinsaubernitz.

Hike along the adventure trails, which are peppered with information boards, and learn more about how this unique landscape came to be. Round off your hike with a visit to the nature market in spring and autumn or visit the “House of a Thousand Ponds” on the Vierseithof in Wartha.

Muskauer Fold Arch Geopark

A glacier from the last cold period formed the landscape of today's geopark and gave it its horseshoe shape. The folded layers of the subsoil make the history of our planet tangible.

Plan your tour on the cycling and hiking trails through the beautiful landscape. One of the most beautiful destinations is Lake Luisensee with its unique plant cover on the water surface, accessible on a circular path. A hike up the Drachenberg is also unforgettable, where the landscape still looks like it did thousands of years ago.

State crown near Görlitz

Wooden house tour Niesky

At the beginning of the 20th century, the company Christoph & Unmack near Görlitz gained a worldwide reputation through the mechanical prefabrication and turnkey delivery of wooden houses, schools, churches and even aircraft hangars. Discover almost 100 historic wooden houses in Niesky and follow the wooden house path to the garden city-like settlements. Visit the well-known Bauhaus-inspired wooden house, now a museum, and explore the factory settlements and the Saint Josef Catholic Church on guided tours.

High Dubrau

Niederspreer pond area

Discover the Lusatian glacial valley east of the Erlichthof in Rietschen. The landscape offers dry heathland, extensive forests, picturesque ponds and lush grassland that borders the Muskau Heath. Over 60 species of plants, more than 50 species of birds and numerous mammals such as sea eagles, cranes and otters live here.

Start your tour from the parking lot at Niederspree Castle. Explore the landscape on family-friendly hiking trails with observation towers and discover the diversity of nature in the Niederspreer pond area.

Zittau Mountains

South of the Neißeland lies the Zittau Mountains Nature Park with its remaining volcanic mountains, romantic valley meadows and fairy-tale sandstone formations. The highest peaks are Lausche and Hochwald with a height of almost 800 meters. Around 435 km of well-marked hiking trails await you here.

Also discover historical cities such as Zittau with its Lenten cloths and Löbau with its cast-iron tower, which offer interesting excursion destinations. The half-timbered houses are particularly fascinating, a unique combination of Slavic log construction and German half-timbered construction from the settlers.

Around the cultural island of Einsiedel

Discover the diverse hiking trails and excursion destinations around the secret world of Turisede near Zentendorf. Start your tour from the parking lot of the family adventure park, known for the first tree house hotel in Germany. Hike along the Neisse to the easternmost point of Germany and explore other attractive trails such as the Neisse Romantic Trail, the Froschwwiesenwanderweg and the Beaver Hiking Trail in the adventure village of Bielawa Dolna. Experience animal encounters in the “Seh-Café” and enjoy the tree house labyrinth and sculpture park.

Lusatian Mountains

The Lusatian Mountains adjoin the Zittau Mountains Nature Park on the Czech side. This mountainous region in northern Bohemia has been one of the exquisite protected landscape areas since 1976 with magnificent peaks such as Jedlová, Klíč, Hvozd and Studenec. As in the Zittau Mountains, the characteristic half-timbered houses shape the townscape here too.

Along nature trails and designated hiking trails you will repeatedly experience bizarre sandstone cliffs, the sight of which is only surpassed by the fantastic distant views from the peaks.
